Glofish at Walmart

Although I don't even mention them on my LFS list, most WalMarts have a live fish section... often terribly maintained. That aside, I've been pretty impressed with the one @ Germantown & Trinity in the Cordova area. Today, I found that they have GloFish (genetically engineered, flourescent red Zebra Danios) for $4 each, which is a buck below suggested retail. I could not find these fish anywhere in the area a few months ago, so I ordered mine online. If anyone wants some, you should probably act fast. Or... wait a little while my first couple of fry populations mature. Smile

And while I'm sure that Walmart might not look so bad, they're all horrible. I think its an awful thing for them to carry fish, but what do ya do?

I've seen situations at the Wolfchase one that would have resulted in arrests if they were dogs or cats instead of fish... Thankfully some stores have people who really try to make a difference, and the one on Germantown seems to have one like that.

i hear ya, it seem like people just don't get to worked up over the fact that most stores that have fish treat them like crap
