Meeting 000 "Minutes"

I was very pleased to meet some participants on this site, and I had a great time!

We're currently looking at having the next meeting on August 13, probably earlier than 3pm, as Bob's Tropicals closes at 5 on Sundays, and it might be nice to have an "after-meeting" shopping trip. Subsequent meetings would be on the Second Sunday of each month.

My DIY UV sterilizer idea may have some problems... As Oqsy noted, wavelength is important, and from what I'm reading of commercial UV filters, the bulbs emit dangerous light that could damage your retina... Standard PC modding blacklight tubes don't carry such warnings (and hopefully don't do such damage!) Apparently, the larger cost of commercial UV filters is bulb replacement as well, so I"m thinking this is one thing that the MacGyver approach may not handle. Sad

As we think about flyers, etc... for the next meeting, I realized we should have also talked about this a bit more: what should we call these meetings? We could go with the old group's title, "Mid South Aquarium Society," something related to this site, "MemphisAquaria Meetings," or something else entirely... I'll put up a poll in the "Site and Society" section. Please give your input, if any, soon!
