 Slate-like rocks -- sources in town? |

I want to add a waterfall feature to my backyard Koi pond... can anyone name a source of slate-like rocks here in town? I want something black and striated in appearance. I'm going for a look like these (although smaller scale than the second):

Did you ever find any of the slate type rocks locally...I have been thinking about using some for my next fishy project

Nope... still looking, but I've put that project on the back burner, behind about 50 others.
